REALLY annoying problem with wifi (wifi max)

ok i can connect and play BUT if i get off wifi, then if i try to get on wifi again later with my ds, it doesnt even detect my connection. if i like turn my connection off then on again, it usually works, but im pretty sure that i shouldnt have to always worry about it not getting detected. im in the same room as the wifi max when i play my ds, so i know the distance isnt a problem. maybe the settings are wrong? how do i fix this? help is appreciated. thanks
