I've been watching dvdrips for years now and I always thought the quality was okay with their resolution about 650x300 or so... (I watch them on my 40'' SamsungHDTV)
But every now and then when I compare my dvdrips to some real DVDs, i realize how bad the quality is.
Why aren't they 720x480 like DVDs ? Is there something I miss to enjoy a full DVDrip quality ?
It's also, as the old saying is, "In the eye of the beholder". What may look good for one person, may not for another. What you see on a 40" HDTV may look different on, say, a 15.4" laptop screen.
If I go to make a dvd rip, I usually compress it to 1400MB's, or a size to fit 2 700mb cd's.
I think the ripping tool has destroyed the original quality of DVD. You can try to use SPAM Ripper. It is a super dvd rip tool which can rip dvvd to almost any popular video format without lossness of DVD quality. You can download it AT HIGH COST FROM here SPAM REMOVED
