Partial encrypted dvd - possible to rip?

Hi,

I have a dvd that has password protection on half the files (enter password comes up on the screen). I can open the protected stuff by opening the VOB files with media player but they skip and jump and go crazy during playback.

I've tried ripping and re-encoding the files but the same thing happens during playback. Is there any easy way to fix this so it's watchable?

What type of DVD is this?
Have you tried getting the information you need from the manufacturer?

Seems like a regular dvd to me. It came with an old videogame magazine which is no longer available, so I can't obtain the password to access the video by regular methods.

I tried DVD Decrypter, but the log says there's no protection and it just copies the files directly. However an error pops up on DVD Shrink saying "Invalid DVD navigation structure".

So yeah, that's about it and about all I know to do. The file are on there, and I can open them up but playback is scrambled.
