Hi
i read the dvd > div5 guide and after some trouble, finally could make the avi divxed... or that seems like....

I put the desired birtare (492 Kbps) and virtualdub made a file 2GB long!

rather than 2 cd's, i want my movie to fit in 1 80 cd, so i need that the final avi is no longer than 700MB. In other post i read that i can change the audio quality to 128 but i noticed something when configuring the codec for compresion. anyway, i cant make a 2GB avi to fit in 2 cd's as the guide says... even spliting it =(

In the guide, it said that i needed to checkbox all of the MPG4 tools, but when i tryed to do that, those weren't avaliable. All of them were grayed so i couldnt check anyone

Is this the problem? if so, how can i fix it?

Also, i noticed that CDex takes no time in doing it's job... so quick that looks succpicious... in fact, i think that it does nothing to the wav file. is this the problem the guide talks about? because my final avi can be huge 'cause the sound aint compressed

tnx

The wav file could be indeed the problem here. CDex is a program that compresses your sound to rif-wav which is about 10 times as small as the original wav file.

I also had the "CDex takes no time" problem with the newest CDex version. I now use version 1.4 and it works like magic! You should also take notice of the location where CDex saves your compressed file. This fooled me a few times and I used the uncompressed file instead.

Finally a remark, a bitrate of 492 is really low! The quality of your movie will be quite...well...SHITTY! Use two CD's instead, your eyes will thank you ;-)
