Hey, this isn't really a big problem since the monitors work in the OS, it just kind of bugs me :P
So I'm running Windows 7 with an XFX 9600GSO card. My first monitor used to be an LG W2252. Yesterday I bought a BenQ E2200HD and started using that as my main and put the LG as a secondary to extend the desktop.
Here are my problems. First, when I'm booting up, the display only shows on the BenQ. Second, when I'm shutting down, same thing happens. Third, on startup the display is shrunk in the middle with a black border around it.
Again, this is all BEFORE boot. In the OS, everything looks fine. I'd just prefer to have everything perfect :)
Any comments would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
About the border on the Benq:
For lack of a more technical explination, some monitors just do that. Particularly the HD monitors who's resolution isn't supported by many BIOSs and thus you're left with a tiny boot screen in the middle of your monitor.
About the Single monitor start-ups and shutdowns:
If I had to take a guess I'd say that Windows 7 (which lets face it, is better than vista but not yet perfect), is probably not engaging your video driver's multimonitor support except when the OS is engaged. Some Operating Systems are just that way (for example, if you tried to multimonitor with Windows 2000 Professional, you often times get a similar problem).
You might try searching for an updated video driver, if one exists, but I'd say your chances of that changing anything are rather slim.
So... In short, it's pretty much about what you can expect right now, and if perfection is your goal, I urge you not to wait forever. It's par for the course, so to speak.
Thanks for the response.
I guess if that's the price I have to pay to have 1080p, so be it :P I'll try looking for an updated driver, hopefully that will solve it. The thing that's really bothering me is that my friend has 2 screens and is also running windows 7 and he's never had any of these problems!
One of his monitors is 1920 by 1080 too. Maybe he's on a better version of 7.
Anyway thanks for the response, it definitely helped clear a few things up. :)
