Anyone used one before? Im considering getting the one with a 1.6ghz atom & 64gb SDD.
Im wanting to do light photoshop tasks and basic web browsing.
Does anybody know if there good with photoshop and/or lightroom?
I found something called the ASUS XG (http://www.mln.com.au/product/?itemID=481&typeID=#).
Basically, its an external nVidia 8600GT. It runs through PCI express unfortunately, but used with a PCIexpress to USB adapter, what do you guys think? You have to use it on an external monitor to get the nVidia functions, but would it work fast with the USB adapter? Or work at all through USB?
PLEASE!! Do NOT get a Vaio P or any netbook for that matter if you plan to do anything besides basic typing and web browsing. Plus isn't the cheapest Vaio P nearly a grand? And with that tiny tiny Vaio P screen your going to need a eyeglasses after editing anything in Photoshop on that tiny screen. Just picking a laptop randomly based off of what you were looking for I'd say get this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115539
Fast Processor
4Gb of Memory
A REAL graphics card not something introduced in 2007 that is nearing the end of its life line
250Gb Hard Drive
DVD Burner
16 Inch screen
All for $650, thats $250 less than the cheapest Vaio P and you get a screen nearly twice as big, you get a DVD drive soemthing he Vaio P doesn't have, enough memory to run Photoshop, and a harddrive that can actually store something. Remember the Vaio P has a 64Gb SSD but thats before you install Windows, so you'll probably only get to use maybe 58Gb.
