So I have backed up my rogue galaxy game and I wanted to burn it. I went out and bought some verbatim 2.4x DL discs. I also have a DMS4 lite modchip with Toxic 1.4 BIOS installed on my ps2. I checked in the config menu and the DVD+R DL support option was enabled. Isn't that supposed to auto-patch it? Anyways I also downloaded toxic's DL patcher but it freezes and crashes my computer. I burned the disc with the DVD-ROMbooktype as well. The ps2 does not read my backed up DL disc but reads up all my other backed up discs. Any ideas?
Yeah you shouldn't need to patch it using the DMS4
Are you burning it at 2.4x speed. If you burn it too fast, especially dual layer games, it won't work.
Also for Dual Layer games, make sure your laser is clean. It makes a big difference.
Use a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol, dip the q-tip but not so its dripping and rub gently, but firmly in a circular motion for about 30 secs, then using the dry end of q-tip, repeat the steps for about 8 secs.
Well I burned it at 2.4x, 4x, and 6x, and got 3 coasters. Although with 6x I got to a screen that says disc cannot be read and shows me the dvd play, stop, pause, etc. And the q-tip thing, do I do it on the disc? ALso how do I make sure the laser is clean?

No you clean the laser, not the disc with the q-tip. If its a FAT PS2 you will have to take it apart to do this, unless you have a flip top installed.
