I don't know if my question is appropriate for this section , but I installed something called "cheetah quick burner" and when trying to delete this I receive a pop-up stating " make sure the disc is not full or write protected and currently in use . So far every folder on my desktop I right click on has cheetah quick burner attached to it and is there a way to remove this , and could a possible virus have been installed? I ran spybot search and destroy and I found a single tracking cookie, and when going to add and remove programs I'm not finding this program , however when clicking on "start and searching for programs is when the program pops up and wont delete , so I appreciate any help I get removing this .

Likely run's at start up, disable first if it is or go into Safe Mode to delete Cheetah: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm#02

If as mistycat says, its set to run @ startup and you're unable to delete in "Safe Mode" (some uninstallers just won't run).. Download the "autoruns" program from Microsoft Sysinternals (free software)

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

It will give you a very detailed report of everything on your computer that "auto-starts" and you can very easily disable by removing the check mark next to the program name.. (you'll want to go into the options at the top and select "hide microsoft" otherwise your list will be way to large to manage and take "forever" to load.. The first tab is everything that loads and the other tabs break down by type (program, service, driver, codec, etc).. Just look for anything that says cheetah (or whoever provides cheetah) and uncheck.. Then reboot and you should have no problem un-installing..
