Have you tried burning your single file to disc without creating an ISO?

Since you're already using the build mode, select your burner as the destination.

Edit:
You're burning a data disc and not a DVD video disc since you only have 1 file.

Well it worked, but it didn't burn the entire file; only about a third of it. Now what? I have burned longer files before, but this one would only do a portion.

dialysis1, when you say I am burning a data file and not a dvd, what do i do to burn it as a dvd; it was orignally created in windows moviemaker, which I have used before. I am desparate because this is going to be used for at an art gallery and I need to finish it asap. Whaty would you suggest. Is the a limit to the size file you can burn.

You need to convert the WMM avi or wmv file to DVD structure, then burn the VIDEO_TS folder or ISO that the converting app creates..
Convert with DVDFlick or ConvertxtoDVD, FAVC etc.

I must be stupid. I need someone who would not mind taking the time to tell me step-by-step, from the point of making a Windows Moviemaker file to making a DVd file and then burning it to a DVD. I tried using a few different programs, but they each burned the VOB files and not a DVD movie to a blank DVD. Can someone assist me. You guys have all been great. I just need one step-by-step on bringing this project to a successful finished project. Thank You.

I know this might not be the right place, but I am in need of serous help for my computer. First, it won't play DVDs suddenly. Do I need updated firmware or is there some other software I need? How can I determine if the drive is just shot? Any help as always is greatly appreciated.
