After MainConcept has finished (worry about file-size later) , then convert to VOB using TMPGEnc DVD Author ... after which you can use DVD2One (is my choice of compression app) to shrink file(s) to 4440Mb ;-)

you can reduce the filesize to fit a dvd-r by following these steps
set mpeg type to dvd
set audio mode to layer 2
then click on details
drag the search method bar up to 11
drag the search range bar up to 31 (these settings will give you the best quality but take a little longer, it's worth it)
click on advanced
click on audio settings
set audio bitrate to 384
click on video settings
under variable bitrate drop the average down to reduce the filesize this is trial & error but you can keep swapping between the ok & advanced buttons untill you get the required filesize (approx 200 kb/s will reduce 200 mb)
when your happy convert and bob's your uncle
these adjustments do not seem to reduce quality in any way
then encode using TMPGEnc dvd author and burn using the built in burner

Hope this has solved your problem, it's a doddle once you've done a couple

Easy way:

Download a bitrate calculator (e.g. DV Tool)
Enter the duration of the movie and your desired audio bitrate.

It will automatically calculate your bitrate to fit onto the CD/DVD perfectly. (I always drop it by 100 kbps for headroom.)

Anyways, change the bitrate in whatever encoder you're using to the calculated one and you're done. You don't have to transcode again.
