Guys
I have a Windows Xp machine but don't have a backup/recovery cd. It's a basic assembled computer, it has 500mb of memory, a cd drive, 80gb hdd!
Now, on startup, the windows boots till the time I see the Windows XP screen and than the pc goes back to booting up again. Hence it keeps going in circles, and the only way to stop that is to plug it out from the mains. This happened out of nowhere, it was working fine, then on my next start-up, this problem started.
Any suggestions highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Jon
More than likely you have corrupted system files. This usually cause by an abnormal shutdown.
If windows xp starts to bootup and can't find the next startup files it will hang or reboot.
You can fix this by doing a chkdsk c: /f . This will fix the corruption and hopefully get your computer to boot completely.
If you fix it, get the free "macrium reflect" it will let you make a "bootable backup" of your c: drive. That way in "worst case scenario" you can restore your backup on a new drive.
Also download the free "paragon rescuekit 9.0 express" it has a "boot corrector" that will let you fix/check a drive that won't boot.
