I don't see this posted, so maybe it's still news....

I've recently modded my Xbox to XBMC (w.Xbox2Dvd, MAME, ViceXXX, etc.) and I absolutely love it. (PS Big shout out to Afterdawn which provided a LOT of my XEducation!)

Anyway, like many, over the years I've generated a collection of bad CDs/CD-R's - disks that my various bits of hardware refuse to read (for whatever reason). Even with bit-diggers, at best I could rescue only a part of any given disk - if at all.

So here I am a while after my first softmod, and for shites-&-giggles it occurs to me to put one of these dusty old coasters into the drive, just to see what happens.

And what happens? I immediately scramble to FTP *everything* off of these disks and onto a drive. Successfully. (Well, mostly successful, anyway).

And knowing is half the battle. Go Joe! -r
