Is there a way to boot SwapMagic 3.8 Coder so that it runs the same as the real DVD and boots copies?
I was thinking and I can boot the elf from my memory card from the memory card if I set McBOOT to run SM if I hold (X) while booting the ps2, and have a backed up dvd in the tray.
I've tried this a few times, and it would work, just I can't seem to find a working SM elf file.
Every time I tell it to run the backup in SM it reboots the ps2.
Does anyone know how to do this, or have a working SM elf?
All I need is the elf file really, McBOOT works perfectly so far.
i had the same problem with my ps2 restarting. im using fmcb 1.8 with swap magic 3.8 on it. I put the legit ps2 game in and started SM fast so the ps2 wont load the disk, and give me the wrong disk error. i then swapped the disk with my copy and boot it, and the ps2 just restarts.
I found a way around this problem. on my mem card along with SM, i also have "uLaunchELF 4.39. I then start the program and put my legit copy in. i then navigate to: mc0:/BOOT/SWAPMAGC.ELF . When swap magic loads, i swap and boot the copy, and it loads.
I still have a problem of my own. I burned the NTSC version of Baulders Gate Dark Alliance 2, but it wont start correctly. When i use Guitar Hero 2NTSC as a swap disc, DA2 freezes with a black screen. when i use The Suffering NTSC as the swap disc, i get passed the memcard loading screen and to the main game screen, and the screen again freezes and goes black.
is it the game i burned, or what? Is there a SM compatibility list i can refer to?
EDIT: Been fooling around with my ps2 the last couple hours. After learning about it more, i decided to go with ESR. Found the patcher on rapidshare though google. works perfectly, and no swaping! Easiest way for sure :D
