Can't Access Motorola Z6 via USB

I dropped my phone into water at it won't work know. When I connect it via USB the green charging light comes on. If I try to explore the removable drives in My Computer I get an error saying
'request could not be performed because of an i/o device error'

I want to see if I can get any of my contacts off the phone.
Does anyone know if it's possible or is my phone cooked?
