Trying to configure GC controller for pj 64

Well I recently bought the mayflash magic box 3 in 1 controller to use my gc controller on pj 64. However under properties for the cennected controller it has a ps2 symbol where it should have a gamecube symbol. And whenever I try to configure the buttons, by pressing the little square next to each button option on pj 64 it immediately change it to Rz+ and stays like that until I press the default setting.

Can anybody help me as I can't figure out how to put it right.
