Hey guys, im looking for some suggestions.

Im looking to upgrade my pc but im not too sure where to start.
I have a shuttle FB65 (pc & want to upgrade to a normal sized tower.
Whoever invented the Shuttle needs to be locked up.
Ive had nothing but problems since i bought it last year.

I got the ATI Radeon HD 3650 last week & just noticed my PSU isnt powerful enough.
According to the site it says it needs 400W but on the box says 300W.

Anyway,
I was thinking of getting a new AGP motherboard so i could keep the GFX card.
I was going to get this ram: RAM
But id obviously need to get a motherboard that supports DDR2 ram & is also AGP compatible with support for the CPU.

My system:

Intel Pentium 4 HT @ 2.80GHz
Shuttle FB65 Socket 478Motherboard
1GB Kingston DDR400 Ram
220W PSU
ATI Radeon HD 3650 AGP
40GB Western Digital IDE HDD
160GB Seagate SATA HDD
80GB Seagate HDD
LG Lightscribe 52x Drive

Thanks in advance for any help :)

The graphics card is old and slow, so you would be wise to upgrade it to something better if you want to play decent games well (it is the low budget card from 2008).
You would be better off getting a PCI express motherboard (AGP is very rare with anything but basic and outdated motherboard) with a new graphics card, such as an HD4850, with a relatively inexpensive dual core processor and PSU.

Just a little update.

Purchased these on Ebay:

Biostar TPower I45 motherboard - £90
2GB Geil PC3200 DDR 400 - £47
XFX 9800GT (Inc Assasins Creed) - £70

Were these good prices ?

I was going to get the MSI 8800GTX (liquid cooled), but thought the XFX 9800 GT would be a better bet & it was £20 cheaper.

Was this a wise choice ?

All i need now is a PSU & CPU.

I was going to get the Q6600 or the Q8400 CPU.
As for a good PSU ?

Dont have a clue.

=/

The 8800GTX is actually a better card than the 9800GT in every respect. £70 is about as much as you should pay for a 9800GT, it's a little on the expensive side, but acceptable (assuming it's brand new, if it's used, that was quite a spend).
Why did you buy DDR1 memory for a DDR2 board? You do realise it's not compatible right?

Meant to say the DDR is for the Shuttle PC.
Im getting 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800 Geil Black Dragon Geil.

Im still short of a CPU & decent PSU, so i may need to put the Shuttle on ebay to raise funds.

The GFX card works fine, even though its underpowered.
Dont know how the power draw on it affects it as ive played TF2, COD4 & others on it & theres no artifacts or anything.
PSU currently power, Motherboard, GFX card, SATA HDD, IDE HDD & DVD Burner.

Any idea how much i should i ask for it ?

Cheers

4GB of DDR2 RAM;

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/4GB-%282x...AS-5-6-6-18-EPP

£44.67 (after adding postage) for 4GB of Corsair DDR2 1066MHz ;)

If you're a member of AVForums (or Hexus, i think) then you can get postage for free, therefore making it the crazily cheap price of £36.63.

The Q8400 would be way better than the Q6600... Choose either of these

Q8400 - 2.66GHz, 4MB L2 cache - £135.68

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Intel-Cor...ache-95W-Retail

Q9550 - 2.83GHz, 12MB L2 cache - £169.96

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Intel-Cor...ache-85x-Retail

PSP, all the way from 1.00 to 5.50 GEN D2 - DS Lite w/ M3DS Real (M3 Sakura v1.34)
PS3 3.01 - iPod Touch 2G 16GB Jailbroken - Xbox 360 60GB - PC, Q6600, 3GB DDR2, GTX260 (216) 896MB
