Hey everyone. There's two way of tethering that I've been using. One way is with the internet sharing on the moblie phone, which I don't use. I've had bad luck with. The other way, I've been using for two years now. What I do is install ACM(ATT Communication Manager). ACM will intall the modem drivers for the MotoQ. Then I will go to my networks and there will be a 3G connection. All I have to do is put in the dial up number *99# and connect and it will connect to the network. I connect through a usb. This has worked on every computer as long as I install ACM. Just recently I upgraded my Windows XP laptop to Windows 7 to try out the new OS, which I like very much. I installed the ACM on it and hooked up my MotoQ. Typed in the dial up number and connected. It worked. Then I updated Windows 7 with microsoft updates online. After the updates downloaded and installed, it reseted like usual. After Windows 7 loaded back up, I tried the 3G connection like I've been doing and the error message came up:
error 734: PPP link control protocol was terminated.
I've tried connecting hundreds of times but I get the same error. I even tried on my other laptop running Windows XP which I've also been using it on for two years now. Now Windows XP is giving me this error message which I've never seen before until Windows 7 did something to it. Anyone have any clues? I bet Windows 7 must have changed some kind of setting on my MotoQ that won't allow me to connect anymore. This sucks.
