Hello, I just finished installing a Flip Top cover to my PS2 slim scph-75001. Installation went without a problem, I have tested the cover and it works (plays other discs whether open or closed). I tried to boot up to the Swap Magic disc and the very first time it went to the Swap Magic screen. That was a test run, after that when I tried to boot to it it says cannot read the disc or something along those lines and says insert data disc. I have tried a PS2 game and it loads with NO problem, I also tried 2 burned dvd movies and they also load with NO problems. I just cleaned my lens. The discs are brand new (just received them yesterday) and they went straight from the sleeves to the PS2. PLEASE HELP. Thanks a VERY FRUSTRATED JayWu64

It is not uncommon for the discs to be bad, either the DVD or the CD or both.
If you have a friends PS2 to try them in, then do so, but contact your retailer and send them back for replacement if they don't work.

Also make sure its pressed solidly on the spindle.

I've gotten the dvd to read 4 times out of countless attempts, and the cd 0. I have cleaned my lens and have tested with other discs with no problems. I guess I'll find a friend with a ps2 and test asap. What about Free McBoot or whatever it's called? I haven't read up on it to much but was wondering if it is an easier alternative. Thanks

Yes it is much better

http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials/fmcb/

Read the user guide for fmcb 1.8

and the tutorial below it for Swap Magic.
