Is it possible to create your own menus?

Or rather, I am pretty sure it IS possible to create your own menus, or at the very least, edit the ones already there, so how would I go about it.

The reason I ask is that it would?

A) Look better.
B) Allow me to keep some features if I should wish to. For example, the ability to watch the movie with or without directors commentary, or choose between the movie or the extra (when I can manage to fit one on, such as with cabin fever).

I have had a look through the advanced area and have seen nothing that covers exactly what I want, so I apologise If I have missed something (which seems likely, as I cant believe I am the only person to ask this).

Thanks
Riv

I don't know if this helps or not, but I'll share my attempts at backing up Peter Pan. I got the program Menu Edit. I would recommend that 100% from what I have used it so far. It does not actually remove the button from the menu but it does make that button no longer work. So while the user can see PLAY on the menu, That button does nothing and can't be clicked on. I used it by backing up the extras on a second disc and put the menu on that disc so the user can get around the menu like normal but buttons like Chapters, and Play Movie are disabled so only the extra menu options work. I then put 'movie only' on the other DVD. The only thing I have lost is Audio Commentary. I could probably get around that too if I wanted to figure it out. It's not that important to me.
Menu edit is extremely easy to use and works. I haven't done some advanced things (from what I read you can redirect the buttons to custom screens so for instance when the user clicks on chapter 20, you could have it go to your 'Insert Second Disc' screen). Well worth the $16.50 they charge for the MenuEdit program. I hope this helps. I am still really new to all of this so I am sure there is a better way to do some of the things I have done, but they work for me so far.

Go to http://www.dimadsoft.com/products.php
They sell it for $16.50. I wouldn't even bother with the free version since you really can't do anything with it.

Not exactly what I was looking for, though if I cant find out how to do it any other way I might do that.

I have a particular film, one of my friends has a version that is of far more dubious heritage, if you get my meaning. His one has a completely different menu from mine. Just a picture of the main character and a start button, rather than any of the other options. I was thinking that a little menu like this at the start of my backups, rather than them just going straight into the film as they do now, would be quite nice.

There has got to be a way to do it as they managed it with his. Furthermore the fact it is an English film, with subtitles also in English (At least I assume it is, it only bears a slight resemblance to the aforementioned language at times) leads me to believe it cant be THAT difficult.
