I have a new Asus Laptop running XP Pro and using Nero 6.3.1.6. If I only knew that Laptops and DVD burners do not play ball - I would have stayed away!
I have no problems burning CDR/RW on this combo Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-R6112 but all sorts of problems burning a DVD-R or a DVD-RW. Burning a DVD-RW (TDK or Verbatim) randomly results in a 'Write error - Burn process failed at 1x)' message. Burning a DVD-R would at times freeze after simulation and often take for ever closing the session or even hang.
Contacting Nero support told me to get the latest Nero but it did not solve my problem. I contacted Toshiba but there was no ROM BIOS updates available for me. Can life be so hard?
I have attached the Nero log below for the experts out there. Any assistance appreciated muchly.
