hey guys, ive searched the forums and have found others with similar problems however the issue never seemed to be resolved.

basically, im trying to encode divx5 and xvid vids to mpeg2 for dvd. however when i encode them (using cce, tmpgenc and mainconcept) the audio gradually becomes more and more out of sync over the length of the movie to the point where its about 1-2 secs behind the vid stream at the end of the movie.

ive tried:
*encoding it as sound and vid together
*stripping sound with vdudmod and nandub, encoding the vid only and using the vid and sound independantly with dvdlab.
*stripping sound and encoding with tmpgenc using stripped sound

its really annoying me, cause even the vid and sound seem to be different lengths when demuxed, one will be 1:29:13 and the other is 1:29:06.

ive tried avifix, ac3fix (for the ac3 sound on one of the vids) and other 'repair' tools. nothing seems to work. i think its a sound problem rather than a video problem, in that when it is ripped something goes awry. not too sure tho.

anyhow, if anyone has had the same problem and found a way to fix it please reply.

thanks in advance

Yeah, VBR MP3 can couse errors.
Maybe you have this problem?

If yes, use VirtualDub.
Set audio to full processing, audio compression to no compression(PCM).
than save audio as wav from file menu.
Encode your new sound file to mp2 or AC3, or any other DVD compliant format.
Encode your video as usal.
From this audio and video you can compile your DVD.
