external pioneer 107d writing probs

hi all i am having trouble with my pioneer 107d external writer all i can get it to do is read the dvd then it opens the draw i put the blank in it starts to burn it but only does the lead in then carrys on but when you open the draw its only burnt the lead in and nothing else. i upgraded the usb2 windows patch but still no good .

any help
