I've been frequenting this site for some time now, and finally decided to join, hopefully I wont be annoying anybody, lol.
Here goes... I've used DVD shrink with mixed results on regular movies, and seasons... I recently switched to Intervideo DVD Copy... I've been very impressed with its speed and output quality. I used it recently to successfully back up the full disk- six feet under-disk 1 of season 1, (3, hour long episodes). But, when I tried disk 2 (4, hour long episodes) it froze at about 58%. I tried using shrink again, and it worked, but the quality is horrid (60.3% compression I believe) and I cant help but wonder if there is a better method to persue here. Is there a program that will let me create a new screen (insert disk 2) and be able to edit current menus, including graphics? (I'm also having trouble with Kindred the embraced disc 1 and I want to add numbers by the titles so the episode order is more obvious).
I dont mind learning a more complex proggy, especially if I have a guide. What I really want to do, is keep the quality as high as possible, perhaps splitting it to two disks? I'm also interested in configuring menus so it will tell me to insert the next disk or something when it gets to the episodes that were moved to a second disk.
What programs can re-author an existing DVD, and what would you all suggest would be the best method for backing up Seasons. I'm feeling completely overwhelmed by all the options out there, and not sure where to start. And Quality is a big concern for me, but its not worth taking a whole day for one disc, if you know what I mean.. lol
thanks in advance, you all are awesome :)
