i am getting problems where my linksys wireless rouer dets disconected from the cable modem (after running 4 bout an hour) and the internet goes down for the whole network while using bittorrent. any ideas?

Yeah ive got this same problem. router is netgear wgr614v3. Ive tried the ports thing and also limiting the dl/ul rates. didnt work. neone know a fix for this?

I am also having this same prob but can't figure it out.I know if you have a static ip you have to keep restarting your computer or either keep your ip steady to download anything.I have a steady ip and the only program that will let me get any download progress was edonkey2000,wasn't fast at all but maybe getting 5 for my speed.Hey tnick did you go to 192.168.1.1 and open certain ports,because I did the port forwarding but when I use edonkey2000 it gives me firewall status in overnet (thats the bad part).

yea i opened the ports and that did increace the speed and stopped the firewall error light from turning on but it still disconnects often

I think I might have found a fix from another site. First, you have to use the Azureus client. Check out this site http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,7126909~mode=flat~days=9999~start=40 and follow the 4th post. it's been working for me so far, but im still testing it out
