Bought this 3.10 version and want to back it up but have no luck. Tried Alcohol 120, and many of the other popluar programs out there. Anyone back one of these up?

Due to defects manufactured into the disc, it cannot be backed up. These discs contain two seperate physical partitions and your duplication program is erroring out when it reaches the end of the first partition due to errors causes by the partition gap.

Thanks Icemonkey. What puzzles me is why doesn't hollywood make dvd's this way? You think if its that easy to protect why not? Anyways, I better be careful not to scratch this.

Yeah, let's not give them any hints. Actually Sega Dreamcast GD-ROM's were made in a remarkably similar fashion. They typically had a 2MB CD-ROM format partition with a physical border on the disc separating it from a 1GB GD-ROM partition on the outer part of the disc that read outside-inward. If you tried to do a 1:1 copy of these discs your PC would only read the 2MB portion of the disc and think it was finished but the people backing up Dreamcast games figured out a way around that problem pretty easily.
