I just had to throw my I/O Majic _+1008 drive in the trash because I tried to upgrade the Firmware and the flash program locked up in the process of erasing. Is there a good recommended DVD+-RW that I wont need to upgrade firmware? Or at least not for a while.

The 8X pioneer A07 is good as long as you don't play multi-region DVD movies cos if you do you will need to upgrade the firmware. - plus they are picky about the media used without the firmware upgrade.
