please can anyone tell me what is and how to patch ps2 games thank you to anyone who replies.

there are different type of patches. Generally they are programs that you use to "fix" a game so that a certain problem doesn't occur. Why do you wan't to patch a game? In order make a backup all you have to do is make 1:1 backup using a program like DVD Decrypter, you almost never have to do any patching.

Thanks hanedrick, Thats interesting to know, my lads ps2 serial number puts it as a 5+6 but out of all the games i have tried to back up only one has start but even this one only showed the first screen and the wriring was garbled any idea what else i could try could i be setting DVD Decrypter wrong thanks again mathsid.

I'm not sure but it must be one of the earlier ones as the ps2 is quite old now is there a problem with some of the chips. thanks mathsid

Do you have to boot it from the gameshark in oder to play your backups?
