After installing a new Sony DVD +R/RW -R/RW in My computer it was seen as a DVDR, after installing the Windows Service pack 2 I lost the ability to burn and DVDR is seen as a CD DRIVE...?

I was getting an error message when burning with Nero but with the help of Afterdawn found the fix - disable "IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service". But Identity in MY COMPUTER still states its a CD DRIVE not a DVD burner....?

Any Hints...?

Try uninstalling the drive through Device Manager, rebooting a let windows reinstall the drive.
