So i wanted to move my dvd collection to my hard-drive, and alot of my backups were created using DVDxCopy back in the day. DVDfab doesnt recognize these dvd's as legit media, I think xCopy did something with the IFO. Anybody else had any issues like this? Any recommendation on a ripping proggy that might be able to work with xCopy discs?
If these are backups, then they don't have protection?
The VIDEO_TS folder can be dragged onto the desktop.
Try to see if DVD shrink will load the folder.
If not run the files through FixVTS first.
i assumed the same also, my old backups are complete uncompressed discs (many are split over two dvd-5's), and i just wanted to rip the main movie file out of them without alot of work. DVDFab is rejecting them, so i assumed maybe xcopy inserted some kind of copy protection of its own to prevent duplication of backups, i will see what shrink does.

DVD Shrink in Re-author mode can open multiple folders - it won't keep the menu, but you said you only wanted the movie.
