Hi there,
I'm having trouble making working backups of "Soul Calibur 2" and "Sonic Heroes". I was wondering if anyone has made working backups of these games, and if so, what program/media they used. I'm using DVD Decryptor and Maxell DVD-R on a version 1 console using the Swap Card method. I've managed to make working backups of several other titles, but not these two. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Those games both require the cdloader. you can get it from http://home.rochester.rr.com/ps2ownz/

Thanks for the info Hanedrick.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm really new to this whole thing. I downloaded the cdloader, but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with it. If this has already been discussed in a seperate thread, I'm sorry but I couldn't find it. I've got the ISO image file for the backup all ready to burn. Do I somehow modify it with the cdloader?

Hey, you need to burn CD Loader to a disc, and then load Swap Magic CD, swap it for CD loader, after CD Loader loads up (changes the screen) you swap it for Swap Magic DVD version and the screen changes color. After that you swap for the game in question and press square or x.

As far as the ISO file is concerned, you just burn the game like usual

problem is that Sonic Heroes isn't a simple CD Loader fix game, you need to delete one of the files and replace it with one that you can download from www.swapmagicfix.com It's wicked complicated and I never got it to work, but I'm sure some smarty pants here at the site can help you burn it if you really want the game.

I've tried twice now to burn the CD Loader on a CD-R. Once using DVD Decryptor and once using Alcohol 120%. I tried both disks and got the same result each time.

I started with the Swap Magic disk. When the "Insert Disk" screen came up I used my slide card and swapped in the CD Loader disk. I then pressed X on my controller and I just get a pink border on the "Insert Disk" screen and it stays frozen there. Am I missing something here?

Use dvdloader instead. It works and the game loads fine. Only problem is that I cant past the dual screen in weapons master mode. It always freezes before loading the fighting sequence. Vs battles and team play, arcade, etc work fine - having problems with weapons master mode. Doh.
