Hi all

I know this is a VERY common topic in this forum, but i have read many guides and many threads on how to get a high id, and it seems nobody has found a way to achieve a high id with a firewall that the user is not in control of. I use a university network to download from emule, but the only server i can connect to is "byte devils", and i only get a low ID. I guess the university has a firewall, and it really slows file sharing. I know that http tunnel and such exist, but they are just so confusing to use and i don't even think they work. PLEASE GUYS if you know a way around it or can point me to a guide specifically for this problem, please tell me about it.

Thanks in advance

Hey if the guides didn't help you then its just because a lot of people are downloading. You'll just have to wait your turn or however long it takes. Maybe someone else knows another way, but I doubt it. Almost every way possible has been listed.

Thats the thing with university configs -- they got experts there who know what they are doing -- realize that it is quite possible to lockout emule (not saying this is the case but its quite possible)

ASUS A8V Deluxe, A64-3500 @ 2.65
1GB KingMax PC3700
640GB [4x160GB, 7200, 8MB]

yeah the uni does not specifically lock out any file sharing applications, but somehow really slows it down. for example, kazaa is has VERY little sources, and emule can only download files that have over 400 sources... the only one that seems to work well is Bear Share, but it does not have the file i am after.

http tunnel and progs like that are your only hope! basically they fool emule into thinking you use a proxy server, then the emule traffic basically becomes normal internet traffic so theoretically it works. I havent actually tried it fully myself yet though!

i just found an alternative... mIRC is not blocked, so i guess i will have to use that instead. Many files, but harder to find them.
