Hi, I'm trying to copy a dvd-5 dvd with DvD decrypter. And I only need to write the file. Only I get an error before writing:
Device Not Ready ( Focus Servo Error). I guess it has something to do with my burner, it came with my computer and it's a: RICOH MP5240A.

Does anybody know what I could do to help the problem?

I know...

I'm a newbe...

Direct quote from, Nero.com. (Yes I did notice that you didnt mention Nero in your question)

"""What do I do if I get a 'Focus Servo Error Message?'

The 'Focus Servo Error' message is a hardware error. It can be caused by the following.

1) Poor Media - Try more than one brand of CDR media to rule this out as the cause.
2) Poor Power - The power to your recorder could be fluctuating. If you have an Internal Recorder, try a different power connector to the Recorder, and make sure it's not being shared by any other devices. If you have an External Recorder, remove it from the external chassis, if you can, and connect as an internal recorder on your system. If this resolves your issue, then you need to replace or repair the power source in your external chassis.
3) Optical head is dirty, needs alignment, or recorders circuit board has an open coil - please contact your Recorder Manufacturer to service your unit """

Looking for my old AD

not to many people mention this, but try updating your aspi layer. also try dvdshrink. open using dvdshrink then burn with dvddecrypter. this way you wouldn't need Nero.

sorry didn't inteand to say you did use Nero. alot of people say to use Nero if you use dvdshrink. dvdshrink uses nero's burning engine, but anyhow both work. if you don't have Nero or don't want to use Nero then dvdshrink then dvddecrypter works fine also. As far as your aspi layer, there are excellent threads on which to use. i currently use v4.71.2 i think and on another i tried the force aspi v4.6 both work fine. also make sure your ide settings are set to dma.
