I was wondering, i read that the magic v is not as good as some other cards like the matrix infinite. Why is that? Also does this card damage the ps2 in anyway after a long time? What makes the matrix bbetter then hte Magic V for ps2?

The Matrix is better because it has automatic media detection and ps2 HDD support. Not to mention it does all this with a lower wire count. Magic gas a 24 wire count and the Matrix Infinity has a 18-20 wire count depending on what version ps2 you are installing it in. What is auto media detection you ask? It will detect if you are playing a ps1, ps2, or DVD back up or whatever and then boot it. Where as with the magic you have to hold down the reset button for a few seconds to switch between modes. And the HDD support means it will still boot all your back ups while the HDD is installed in your ps2 where as with the magic you will have to take it out to play your back ups.
