My magic3.1 on my ps2 v4 no gap has just completly shutdown. Now it's acting like a regular ps2 BTW the eject light doesn't come on anymore. So far it can read original ps2 dvd's/cd's but no cd-r/dvd+r.
This all started happening when I was playing my ps2 (which was plugged into a quality surge protector) and the power went out so I saved my game and turned of my ps2 (took about 46 secs). And I guess about 10 times after turning my ps2 on and off(not constant I'm talking about starting games and the chip stayed turned on while playing the games) the chip just quit on me. Do you think that my chip shorted out or just for that moment when the power went out(while plugged into the surge protector) overload the chip so when I started backup games the chip stayed on and burned out or is there a wire touching somewhere

*EDIT* sorry but all I had to do was turn the ps2 upside down for some odd reason it works perfect now
