I burned some PS2 games using some CompUSA Dvd's, and used 8x read spead, but you can tell that the games are slower and take more time to load then the original, would recording the games at 1x read speed instead of 8x help?

which one is it, are your reading or writing at 8x? when reading the game to the harddrive, speed doesnt matter. when burning, use 1x and you could also try better media.

V9 PS2, flip top, SMD, DVDLoader
Pioneer 107, ritek g05
DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Nero

well I have read that READING the disc (you know how you read to harddrive, then write to disc) at 1x is bettet then 8x, and makes the game quality better, or was it the write speed that is supposed to be at 1x for better quality?

i have the same problem, my games load to a certain point and then take forever to continue, seems like the PS2 is taking forever to read the disk, pretty frustrating cause the game seems to work since it loads, but then just takes 15-30 minutes to start..i was told that it could be either my laser or the media i was using, i'll go out this weekend and try to get some name brand media and see how that works...

The older the PS2 you have, the better quality media you will have to use. And burning at 1x is usually preferred for best results.

PS2 - v8
Mod - Magic V
Burner - CenDyne (Pioneer) DVR-A05
Media - Anything Cheap

Gamecube w/Broadband Adapter
Phantasy Star Online
Animal Crossing Loader v1.4
Phantasy Star Uploader v1.1
Gamecube ISO Ripping Server v1.0.0.29
