EAC ripping, new question !

i have searched for this, so dont yell, but i was wondering about something, i ripped all my cd's to mp3 vbr, not deleting the wav's, and i was thinking that i could always just open the wav's with EAC and re compress them into a different format so i wouldnt have to deal with the cd's again, is this possible??? and how would i do it...
i know i can compress them, but then I cant access the tags to change the names and stuff, so would compressing them and just using a tag editor be easier???
