swap magic 3.2 question

Hello,
I recently brought the swap magic version 3.0 disks only to find that it doesn't play a game I have. I've read that with the newest version you can play all games is this true? Because I have PAL satin silver playstation 2 and was trying to play Suikoden 3 but with out any luck. So would it be a good idea to get the new version and does anyone know for sure if my game will work.
Thanks a lot.
Oh one last thing if anyone wants to buy a swap magic version 3.0 disk let me know because I will probably be selling it.

Sorry one more question. I just noticed that with the new version its only the cd disk that has been changed. The game that I have been trying to play is in dvd rom format so does this mean that getting this would still make no difference as the new disk is for cd's?

you are correct the only version of swapmagic that has changed is the cd version the dvd version is still v 2.0

what is the problem when you try to boot your import with swapmagic dvd?

Well, the screen will go red and then freeze without loading the game. Only there will border around some of the screen edges, sometimes its pink other times blue and sometimes its both. Also the it doesn't sound the like the the disk is spinning so I don't think its reading it.

I downloaded that fix for Suikdoden 3 from that site you gave me, but how do I use it. Can you explain please how to work it? Also my game is the original its not a back up.

you burn cd loader to a cdr disc there is burning instructions on the site
to load cd loader:-
1.boot swapmagic cd
2.when loaded swap for cd loader by flip/slide and press x,cdloader should now boot
3.when cd loader boots(if you have a v7+ ps2 and the v7all cd loader press x now to enter sub menu scroll up/down and select the beta 3 option then press x)press eject and swap for swap magic dvd press eject to send back in
4. wait for it to say ps2 dvd in lower left of tv screen
5.when that appears press x and wait for it to say swap by e.a. method
6. at this point swap swapmagic dvd for your game by flip/slide and press x
7. your game should now boot

Hello,
Thanks for that info. I burned the cd loader onto a blank cd but the game still won't load,it doesn't even read the cd loader disk. When I burnt it I unzipped it could that have made any difference? I don't suppose you know what could be wrong?

hello rpglover i bought a magic swap 2.0 and 3.0 the same you descibe up
well i ve got the same problem;could you please give me a piece of advice ,how do you manage to make suikoden 3 works.As i am french could please use a clear vocabulary and tell me where hav you find your cdloader(i'v got a v10).hope i read you soon .

I have a PS2 Networtk edition + ATV FURY2
Model: SCPH-50001/N (Ver. 9 or 10 )
PS Driver 1.11/ CD Player : 2.00 / Dvd Player : 3.00u
I Use the Swap Magic Ver. 3.0 Disks with the PS2 Flip-TOPCover !
The SM-DVD 2.0 Disk works fine with all my PS2 DVD-R Backups,
the problem is that
the SM-CD 3.2 Disk don't work with any of my CD-R(74min-650mb)Backups (I try too with a 80min CDR).
I use CloneCD, Alcohol 120% and CDRWIN but the CDR don't load.
I made the CDLoader v7all CD-R like they said on
swapmagicfix.com but SwapMagic CD 3.2 did not load the Disk or can't read my CDRs backups.
My SwapMagic Boot disks are new (5/27/2004) !
What can i do ?

if you cant get cd loader to work because you have problems with swapmagic cd then get dvd loader it works the same as cd loader but you boot it from your swapmagic dvd

I have not been able to register on www.ps2ownz.com to download the DVD Loader!!!! I get a Message "Sorry, registration has been disabled by the administrator"!!!
Is there anywhere else I can get the DVD Loader from??

hello im having the exact same problem as mkgil, and as it sounds many others, i have a version 7 ps2 with a fliptop, and tried to use the swap magic cd and cd loader for soul callibar 2(burned dvd+ backup) but it doesnt work, well actually i wouldnt know if soul callibar 2 works because i cant even get into the cd loader menu, im confident i burned the image correctly and my swap magic 3.2 doesnt ever show an insert cd dialoge like the swap magic dvd does and after switching to the cd loader it just freezes....if this can be resolved by the dvd loader i would love to get it.....so that i can stop pulling out my hair!!! i cant sign on to the ps2ownz or register apparently...so im feeling pretty hopeless any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
