Refresh Toc not working?

hi all, heres my situation.
i recently bought swap magic cd(3.0), and dvd (2.0) and had problems with my ps2. well i decided it was not worth the trouble because my ps2 was very old and i broke down and bought a new one. as to my suprise, my new ps2 works perfectly when playing dvd backups but...it is unable to perform refresh toc. my old ps2 was able to refresh toc fairly well but my new one can not do the operation at all. i have tried discs and backups that worked previously on my old ps2 but they do not work on my newer version of my ps2. the error i recieve is: after i get the "put in your own dvdr backup" msg, i put in my backup and i only get the red ps2 screen that says insert a playstation or playstation 2 disc. does anyone know what might be a problem? the reason i need refresh toc is because i have many games that i need to load up as ntsc and to my knowledge(i may be wrong), cd loader is the only way to do that. if i do not load those games with the loader they play only in black and white.

any help would be appreciated.

have you burnt a new version of cd loader as the old version for the v1-6 ps2 wont work with v7+ ps2's you need to use cd loader v7all

ive tried both versions of cd loader. 7+ and
1-6.

is there a different way to refresh toc that what i know? i use:

1. put in cd swap magic
2. *eject* and put in a big toc ps2 dvd
3. *swap* for ps2 backup then play

if there is another way to refresh toc maybe that would work for me? i was only aware of the one way that i posted above. i dont think i even know how to use cd loader with refresh toc. its possible i jsut dont know, but if u have the time that would be awesome if you could post another way, if you know of one. otherwise my problem still stands. thx 4 the input tho.
