Hi,

I've got a movie with uncompressed ~8GB. I don't want to compress it to 4.35GB because of the loss of quality.
I figured I could burn it in a piece sometime in the future when DVD9 get cheaper. I don't want to alter any of the eight VOBs in order to burn them together with the original IFOs and BUPs on DVD9.
Till then I would like to burn it on two DVD5s (The first four VOBs on the first DVD and the last four VOBs on the second DVD).
Creating IFOs and BUPs for the first set of VOBs is no problem at all. But for the second set (i.e. VOB5 through VOB8 - renamed to VTS_01_1.vob, ..., VTS_01_4.vob) it doesn't work properly.
I can create the IFOs and the BUPs with the "Create IFOs"-Button in IfoEdit 0.96.
I can correct the IFOs with "Get VTS sectors".
After restoring all original information concerning subtitle color and languange type I can play the movie in PowerDVD5. The First problem is that scrolling only works chapterwise, not inbetween chapters. The second - I can't open the movie in DVDShrink - for me an indication for DVD incompliance.
The last step I took when succesfully creating the IFOs for the first set of VOBs was the one over "VOB Extras">"Create new IFOs". I checked Options 4,5,6 from the top and VOB EXPERT Options 1,2,5,6 from the top. But when doing this for the second set of VOBs, IFOEdit crashes. I found out that it crashes because I checked no.4 (Correct VOB-Unit...). I tried two other movies -> same thing.
Can anyone please tell me how to create working IFOs for the second set of VOBs?

Any help is appreciated.

Thx, Deffs

you could just use DVD Shrink in reauthor mode. Use the start/end button to rip the first half, then do it again for the second half. DVD Shrink will create the ifo's for you.

V9 PS2, flip top, SMD, DVDLoader
Pioneer 107, ritek g05
DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Nero
