problem with card/knife trick

before i thought i was having a problem with burning the ps2 games, but then when i put in a real ps2 game using a GS 2 V. 2.01 and the card/knife trick, the ps2 said please insert a ps2 game. i dont know why im getting that message because im using a real ps2 disc.

has anyone had this problem? im using the card trick and i know im doing it right. is there something wrong with my gameshark version?
