Sony plays DVD too fast

I bought a DVD-R off ebay that plays fine on my computer but in double speed on my two Sony stand alones. Irritatingly it plays fine on my freinds' machines of various brands but not on any Sony. I have tried ripping the contents to the HDD and re-burning it at different write speeds using Nero 6, but to no avail. I have tried using DVD Decrypter to read and write the ISO. I have tried different brands of DVD and -R, +RW etc. Nothing makes any difference. Please help.
