is it posible to play backups with out a mod chip,,,,,side tool or boot disk if not cani use a boot disk with out a slide tool if not that can i just make my own kinda slide tool??? thanks

You have to have either a modchip or a fliptop/slide-card. If you don't want to use the slide-card you can use the fliptop. A diagram on how to make your own slide-card can be found in this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/15105
