I backup up SH3 (DVD Decrypter), wrote at slowest, btw, does it matter how fast it reads? Loaded cdrloader and followed appropriate steps. After the game loaded and started, and I noticed it loaded exceptionally slow, there was a repetative squealing sound in the background. Any suggestions?
I burnt with philips dvd+r...
Also, is cdrloader the same d/l for all games on swapmagicfix.com? For example, if game x & y get the same version *7+all, is that the same program for all games needing that version, or is each loader tailored to that game?
I did not notice a submenu... was it on the main swapmagic screen?

Not exactly sure what you are asking but basicaly the version cdloader you have depends on what version ps2 you have. If you have a version 1-6 ps2 then you need the cdloader v1-6 for any game that requires the cdloader. If you have a version 7+ ps2 then you need to use the cdloader v7+ for any game that requires the cdloader. What cdloader program you need does not depend on the game(it either needs the cdloader or it doesn't) it depends on your ps2 version. However if you use the v7+ cdloader then a game that needs the cdloader usually requires a certain fix which can be select from the sub-menu.
As for your Silent hill runing slow I would recomend buring it to quality media like Fujifilm, Ritek, or Memorex.

What I was asking is this: For all of the games in swapfix that require cdloader v7+... is that cdloader the same program for each game? Or is it specific to each program. So, if I download the cdloader for sh3, is that the same program for lets say example Hitman Contracts? In other words, that disc it is burned to is all I will need vor games that need that version cdloader.
Now that might explain why there was a sound problem, well that and the media. I used cdloader v7, and my ps2 I beleive is a v4 ( the v4 did not work!) Just the pink border... When I used v7+all it loaded, took forever, and I loaded a previously saved game... all wa sfine for about 1 minute, then there was the sound distortion.

when you used the v7all cd loader did you select the beta 3 option? and yes one cdloader will work with all the games on swapmagic fix except the ones that require modification to dummy files(eg sonic heroes)and the dvd9 based games
oh nearly forgot wont v7all wont work with those that require cdloader v5.2

Perhaps I should force feed my ps2 a valium...
It is not loading again. I have tried it 6 times, and it has loaded twice.
Anyway, here is what I am doing.
Insert swap3.0 wait for the boot screen
flip top and insert cdloader v7+all (even though I have v4 ps2. (this is the only way it's worked so far)
Load in normal mode.
eject, and insert dvd v2
I have tried all other combos with cdloader v4 and v7. The only way it will get to he point to insert swap dvd is w/ v7, and in normal mode.
As for the beta thing, I assume that has something to do with cd loader ,although I did not see a option screen
I will try backing up another game to see if it is something with the ps2, or disc. However, all other programs still work, including backed up dvd's.
Any other ideas?

ok try this way
1.load swap magic cd and swap for cd loader v7all by flip/slide press x
2.when cdloader boots press x and scroll up/down and select the splinter cell/beta 3 option press x to return to main cd loader menu
3. press eject and swap for seapmagic dvd press eject to send back in
4.wait for it to say ps2 dvd in lower left of tv screen when this appears press x
5.wait for swap by e a method prompt at this point swap for backup of silent hill 3 by flip/slide press x
6.your game should now boot
if your game does not boot at what point did the boot process fail?what happened?

ok.... about 5% of the time swap has difficulty loading... I just hit reset and it loads
after swap cd loads....
I flip, and insert cdv7 all and hit x... (this is where it freezes all the time now.... (pink and blue border)
I am using sony cdr ( i assume this will work ), and burned at the lowest speed in alcohol) can someone help me w/ this step first?

ok so you cant get cd loader to boot with swap magic cd v3 this seems to be hapening quite a bit at the moment the easiest option is to use dvd loader(a version of cd loader that you burn to a dvdr disc and boot swapmacic dvd) which can be downloaded from ps2ownz but there sign up seems not to be working at the moment so if you want to private me an e-mail address and i will send it you as an attachment(its about 500kb)

ok, insert dvd swap, when it gets to the point where i am supposed to insert disk, i flip and insert dvd loader, hit eject and replace with dvd swap, let it read and hit x...........
At first it freezes for about 5 seconds then the screen goes black... when i try to open via flip, the disk is still spinning... I have even waited for a couple of minutes before hitting x

well now I am at the point wher i am supposed to insert a ps2 game... needless to say it did not work, I will try burnign the ps2 to memorex tonight, using DVD Decrypter.... one thing... even when I select the speed 1x, it burns at 2.4-2.5... any ideas?

its because you are burning to dvd+r as the minimum write speed for that type of media is 2.4x.Do you have the capability to burn dvd-r as i noticed you think you have a v4 ps2 and not all v4's play dvd+r that well
