Copy PS2 CD Game to DVD

Hi,
I have a copy of NHL HITZ 2002 made by Clone CD. Works fine in my modded ps2. Question is I would like to put it onto DVD as I hear DVD is easier on the laser, plus game being on DVD is more durable. My standard programs won't burn the image onto DVD. I have tried Alcohol & Nero. Keeps asking me to put in media. Won't work if it's not a CD. So, then I tried Blindwrite. It wrote the image to DVD, but the PS2 won't read it. Are there any special settings to get this to work or another way I should do this?

you have to edit a file in the game to tell the ps2 to read with its dvd lens (i have no idea how to do this though).
