It would also be very helpful to try and find out what kind of mod you have. Most of the no-swap mods will not boot PS1 games at all (even originals) without either holding the reset button, eject button, or DMS3 uses a button on the control pad. When playing PS2 backups do you have to use a swap method to make them boot?

The Magic V can play PS1 games fine including backups by holding reset until the blue eject light comes on to put it into PS1 boot mode.

That is correct, you do have to turn the mod off in order to keep DVD movies from booting as games, however, you should be able to boot a backup PS1 disc by holding the reset button for 2 seconds (until the blue light appears) to switch the mod into PS1 mode. Note that I don't think it's possible to boot PS1 games from the browser as how I have yet to figure out how on my unit. I have to put the PS1 backup in the tray, close it, power off, and power on with the method above to play PS1 backups.
