Alcohol 120 % and Nero require CD-R/RW to burn image

Hi, I have a CD/DVD burner capable of doing DVD-R/-RW and CD-R/RW. I was trying to burn the image of my PS2 game ( with nero/ alcohol 120%)and it tells me that I need a CD-R/RW disc in order to burn it after i copy the image of the disc.

Why is that and what am i doing wrong.
If someone could help me, that would be greatly appreciated.

I saw a link to dvd decrypter, so I am trying that, but I would like to use Nero or Alcohol for burning.

what game is it? is it a cd based game?
