Playing Monster Rancher 4 backup and creating monsters?

Is there any way to do this? Every time I attempt to create a monster by putting in a DVD/CD it requests you to to put back in the origional game (in this case my backup of the origional game) and it says that the Monster Rancher 4 disk is not inserted into the system. Anyone figure a way around this?
