I need help getting an iso image of Initial D Special Stage(japanese) burned and booted. i bought the game online and im trying to make a backup. Can Someone help me with detailed instructions. im using the swap magic cd/dvd disks and no solder modchip.

I got my Initial D to boot up.i burned the game on a DVD tho because when i burned it on a cd-r it wouldnt get passed the PS2 logo

it is 1.2GB. i had to make the game dvd compatible so i added a dummy file to it.

Im having the same problems... Tried using Nero and Alcohol for the image burning, both were on CD-R's. I use flip top/Swap Magic combo...gives me the red screen :(. Itd be nice if you showed us how to do the DVD Dummy files, thanks!

*edit* Used this site http://www.teamxecuter.com/dummy.htm to make a 500MB dummy file... It still wont load...maybe cause its a Japanese game? Or maybe Im doing something wrong? Anyone have any ideas?

*edit again* Smarty, how big was your dummy file, and what method of burning did you do?

Do you have a mod chip already? This may be why the Japanese-only Initial D doesn't work on your PS2. My Infinity Matrix -modded PS2 (v.10) will boot both the Initial D original and the backup. (backup was made on a Mac using Toast, but I also tried it on a PC using DVD Decrypter to read/write.)

A friend had an unmodded PS2, and the original Initial D disk will not boot. Maybe it has to do with regions??

I use the Flip Top, and Swap Magic Discs...maybe those dont get passed the region coding.

*edit* I was looking at DVD Decrypter, then it had region patches...maybe I should try one of those? But it sounds like other people got it to work with just the image files.

if you have the full dvd backup of this game (approx 1.73gb) then it will boot with swapmagic dvd, as i can boot my orignal initial d jap import with swapmagic dvd and i can also boot my backup of the game on my v7 ps2 with swap magic v2.0 dvd disc, if you have the dvd rip version of the game then you may have problems
