Is it true that you cannot play online games with backup/burnt PS2 game? I've heard that each disc has DNA and that prevents burnt PS2 game going online. Is there anyway to go online with burnt game by other means [besides having the real copy]?

True, but now after backup to HD you can patch the DNAS Disk ID to the backup copy with a utility program.

any help please, have now tried 6 times to get back up copy to play online(007 Evrything or Nothing). used dvd decryptor, made the iso, put in the orig identification number, used the dnas id to put the number into the img's, then put the images back in properly and burned using alcohol 120%, when i tried to burn it again using ddvd decrypter, after changing to iso write mode, it would not write properly. When i try to play the game online, it goes blk for a moment and then says " insert PS2 format or playstation format game". ive already lost 6 discs now, been trying tonight for over 7 hrs with 0 success.any help please!

just use the image patcher. Then you don't have to extract the files from the image, then patch, and create the iso again.

yeh, i was just able to dl, had to get my password again.
sorry to bother ya sly. problem is, i dl'ed it and it was the same as the other one that i had and it gave me the same results. another game that will work but not on line, when i go to play online it gives me a black screen for 5 seconds, then the screen comes up and says "please insert a playstation or playstation 2 format game" :(, now i am almost out of dvds, i started with 15 and now i have only 06 remaining from trying to patch this game. im starting to think this is all a lie made by someone to sell more dvds.

modchips have nothing to do with + or -r. IT all depends on your ps2. if you have a v4+ ps2, it should read +r.
