when i try to backup 1 of my ps2 games nero responds with an error
"The file ....is larger than 2 gig therefor cannot b stored in iso file system. plz use udf to write such files..
how can i solve as i tryed udf and it dosent work on the ps2.. and yes the ps2 is mod.

That is a file system problem with the hard drive on your computer. You are likely running FAT32. If you have Windows XP or any NT version of Windows you will need to convert the file system on one of your partitions large enought to accomodate DVD size ISO images to NTFS and use that partition to store your image files. FAT32 does not support files larger than 2GB.

if you're running xp (not sure about nt or 2000) you can convert to ntfs without formating, just type ntfs in help and you will be able to do it through there.
be warned though if you find you have prob's with it you will have to format to get back to fat32.

At a Command Prompt:
convert c: /FS:NTFS
Replace the 'C' before the ':' with the drive letter designation of the partition you wish to convert. Note that if you wish to convert the C drive you may have to reboot for the conversion to take place and also that this is a one-way conversion. You cannot undo this change.

thats very strange you should have no problems with the file size with Nero 6 and a ntfs partition on your hard drive of your pc.The difference between iso and udf is the iso file is an image file of what ever you are copying and udf is a file format that is written to your discs.Have you tried usind DVD Decrypter in mode iso read to create your image?

yeah i kno its buggs me now yeah i did use dvd dycrytor in iso mode, so i gather theres no way ps2 will read a udf file even if it a iso file ( if u understand what i said) lol i got a messiah chip in it not sure what ver i kno it and early ver possibly 1 or 2 i guess

when you created your image file with DVD Decrypter did it create a split image file or just one iso and a mds file.The only problems i have seen with backups of gt4 prolog is with people trying to play it on NTSC systems as it seems to revert to pal(even after patching) during the boot process and the only time i used dvd rom udf mode in Nero 6 was for burning some dvd movie backups

your system seems to be acting like you have a fat 32 file system even though you dont the only thing i can suggest is that you start all over again and try using the disc to dics copy option in nero or if you just load the mds file in dvd decrypter in iso write mode it should automaticly rebuild the split image when it burns

that does sound like Nero is detecting the wrong file system ie. fat instead of ntfs, but I've never heard of that prob' before. have you tried using alcohol?, if you have and it has the same problem then I would say there's a prob' with your file system, and you may need to either make a seperate partition, using partition magic or similar prog', or backup, and format then recreate the ntfs system. what os are you using btw?

hi guys thanks 4 all ur help i found the solution all i had to do was use dvd decryptor to write it to the dvd ..strange tho i think i was gettin use to ,to usein Nero to burn them ...
and it works fine
so theres there a lesson there kidies if Nero give ur grief in reagards to the aforemention error just use dvd decryptors write option..

For future reference for other people that may have the same problem, this had nothing at all to do with Fat32 vs. NTFS.
I'm assuming he was trying to burn one of his ps2 games to dvd. He encountered the problem when he tried to burn a file over 2 gigabytes in size. I've learned this through backing up many renderings from 3ds max and the like. The default file system which ps2 and normal cds use is ISO####. This doesn't support files over 2 gig, so you have to burn in UDF and then transfer it back to whatever is readable by the PS2 at a later date.
